Metaphors and Similes Fun Deck

Metaphors and Similes Fun Deck

R 290.00

Using this 56-card deck, students practice their knowledge of figurative language by choosing a sentence that means the same as the similes or metaphors.

A simile is a figure of speech comparing two things using “like” or “as” (It was as sweet as sugar). A Metaphor is also a figure of speech, describing one thing as if it were another, NOT using “like” or “as” For example:
This car is a lemon. Does this mean…
(a) This car is yellow,
(b) This car often breaks down, or
(c) This car is a rental?

Metaphors and Similes Fun Deck include 28 cards with Similes and 28 cards with Metaphors. The figurative sentences are in red, followed by three choices, one of which is the correct meaning of the simile or metaphor.

Have your students read each simile and metaphor and then choose the correct answer from the multiple-choice questions.

Cards measure 6.35 cm x 8.89 cm and are stored in a sturdy storage tin.
