An inviting tactile material that challenges children's sense of touch on hands and/or feet. At the same time, it encourages expression and the ability to describe sense-impressions verbally.
The Tactile Discs, made of nice-to-touch, synthetic rubber have different tactile surfaces with corresponding colours. Each of the tactile surfaces can be found on a large disc for positioning on the floor, as well as on a small disc that the child will be able to hold in his/her hands. In terms of play, the discs offer innumerable possibilities ranging from a fundamental sensing of the tactile surface to blindfold games based on memory and recognition. The games can be adjusted, so that they suit the child's age and ability level.
The set of 5 large and 5 small discs with different tactile structures are in a range of colours with a blindfold and a large cloth bag. Dimensions: Large discs 27cm dia. Small discs: 11cm dia. Carry bag & blindfold supplied.
Explore with fingers or toes to match the textures of the large discs to their corresponding smaller versions hidden in the bag. Alternatively match by colour.
