A Good Night's Sleep by Lana Jacobson (Book)

A Good Night's Sleep by Lana Jacobson (Book)

R 200.00

It’s bedtime. Gabriel’s Mommy and Daddy are hoping for a good night’s sleep. But Gabriel has other plans…

In this funny, gorgeously illustrated book for ages 2 and up, Gabriel keeps his mom and dad awake week in and week out. He wakes up and moves beds to sleep in their bed in the middle of every night. His exhausted parents finally hit upon a plan they think will work, but it is Gabriel’s own developing understanding that will save the day.

This is the story of how Gabriel decides to stay asleep in his own bed for the whole night.

Lana D Jacobson has been a leading South African award-winning freelance journalist and author for more than 20 years. She has contributed across the board to newspapers and magazines nationally as well as internationally to Marie Claire New York, The Jerusalem Post and The Sydney Morning Herald.

She is an intrepid traveller and travel writer, as well as ghost writer, tutor, web content writer, and biographer. Her latest two biographies are "Poor No More" and "Unstoppable, The Natalie Knight Story".

Lana's major ambition in life was to wake up mornings refreshed due to a good night's sleep in her own comfortable bed, but her five toddlers had other ideas. When she realised legions of sleep-deprived parents harboured the same wishful thinking, she scoured children's books and found a huge gap in story telling that encouraged children to sleep the night through in their own beds. Necessity being the mother of invention, Lana created a book which motivates the young listener to make going to bed (and staying in it) his or her own choice. She set this within the story of Gabriel, and how his desperate mommy and daddy try to get him to sleep in his bed.

The delightful story has been a runaway success, not only with children, but with parents who harbor the same exhausted ideal.

"A Good Night's Sleep" is part of the Taboo Topics series by publisher ada enup, and is illustrated by the intrepid illustrator Karin Arbuthnot, whose enchanting artwork can also be seen in other books in the Taboo Topic series, such as "Powerful".
